THE Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organ- isation of India (AM- MOI) has sought Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav's immediate interven- tion to ensure health insurance covers for Ayurvedic day care therapies.

- Peethaambaran, Chennai

The core of AMMOI's complaint is that despite clear directives from the insur- ance regulator IRDAI that all systems of medicine, includ- ing Ayush, must be cov- ered for day care treatments, patients continue to face claim rejections for traditional procedures.

The organisation, represent- ed by general secretary Dr D Ramanathan in a letter dated June 10, 2025, emphasized that Ayurveda is currently being treated unfairly compared to allopathic medicine, which al- ready enjoys broad coverage for similar short-duration pro- cedures.
