Strawberry jam

While it’s hard to resist eating strawberries as I'm picking them, those that make it home are often served simply with cream.

However, this really is the nicest homemade jam you can make, especially if you've grown your own berries. And it’s delicious with homemade scones. Makes approximately 5 medium jars.

Ingredients

■ 1kg strawberries, rinsed

■ 1kg granulated sugar

■ 2 lemons

Method

1 Remove the stalks from the strawberries, cut larger berries in half or quarters, and place in a large preserving pan.
