In 1963, First Lady Jackie Kennedy cut the ribbon at the opening of The Madison, DC's first modern luxury hotel. She and President John F. Kennedy were among the hotel's famous guests, along with Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, and Elizabeth Taylor. Tributes to Jackie O.'s style can be found in today's Marriott Bonvoy hotel like the lobby chandelier inspired by her signature pearls. In 2024, the hotel underwent a $15 million renovation as it rebranded as Le Meridien Madison, reimagining the lobby and 365 guestrooms.
