In a high-level celebration in July, Airbus celebrated 30 years of helicopter sales and support, and at the same time launched a key fixed wing aircraft support hub.

THIS latest Airbus investment in Southern Africa drives the company's aim of supporting aviation connectivity, industrial growth and innovation across the key divisions of commercial aviation, helicopters, defence, and space.
Airbus says that it currently has over 260 fixed wing aircraft, more than 500 helicopters and around 100 military aircraft operating across Africa. Airbus's regional footprint extends unbroken from South Africa to Egypt and westwards to Algeria. The Airbus Centre at Grand Central offers full maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities, plus logistics and spares.
Airbus Helicopters Grand Central supports more than 300 helicopters in service across southern Africa, supporting. Helicopter Emergency Medical Evacuation (HEMS), law enforcement, tourism, and a multitude of other roles.
