Zoë Carmichael's Equi Servientes bronzes capture the beauty and spirit of military horses, says Janet Menzies

STARTING with His Majesty The King’s Birthday Parade and Royal Ascot, the highlights of Britain’s summer season are all about pomp, pageantry, picnics and, most of all, horses. For sculptor Zoë Carmichael, this June is going to be especially exciting, as her Equi Servientes collection of bronzes for the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) goes on show. “In fact we are hoping that all three of the subjects for the bronzes will be participating in The King’s Birthday Parade, and then the sculptures will be on display at Royal Ascot,” says Carmichael.
