FUTURE PERFECT

From a Valley of Flowers-themed haldi to outfits that expressed their roots, this Mumbai-based couple planned every last detail of their interfaith wedding in Mahabaleshwar.

“IF SOMEONE HAD told our 14-year-old selves that we would become best friends and get married one day, we would have burst out laughing,” says Tasneem Ghadiyali.

When she was first introduced to Rishabh Saurastri in the ninth grade by a common friend, there were no sparks whatsoever. But in a rom-com twist, they felt drawn to each other a few years later. “Clearly our destinies were meant to be intertwined,” she smiles.

After two imperfectly-perfect proposals—the first one by Ghadiyali in the garden of her Mumbai colony, and the latter by him on a yacht—the pair got hitched in a soulful interfaith ceremony in Mahabaleshwar.
