WE TALK ABOUT The possible discovery of Amelia Earhart's airplane
YOU South Africa
|22 February 2024
ONE of the biggest unsolved mysteries in modern history is what happened to aviator Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan.
In 1928 Amelia became the first woman – and only the second person ever – to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
Nine years later, Amelia and Fred embarked on a flight that would take them around the world.
Fred’s job was to determine their location and the correct course so they would reach their destinations.
