HE USED TO WEAR CRISTIANO RONALDO'S REPLICA SHIRT, AND NOW BRYAN MBEUMO IS MAKING HIS DREAM COME TRUE BY STARRING FOR MANCHESTER UNITED

THIS RED DEVIL IS ON FIRE

HE'S been described as a working machine, a guy with the boots and the brains to make goals happen - and one of the smartest additions to a team desperate not to repeat the disasters of last season.

And no one is prouder or happier to be in a Manchester United shirt than Bryan Mbeumo. He's confident the team will bounce back after finishing a dismal 15th on the Premier League table in May and he's going to do his damnedest to make sure it happens.

The 26-year-old French-Cameroonian transferred from Brentford in July for a reported £65 million (R1,4 billion) and going to the Red Devils is a childhood dream come true.

Mbeumo has helped change the club's fortunes around - United haven't lost a game since their match against Brentford in September and have moved up to seventh place on the table.

The fiery forward has brought his A game: he has six goals to his name so far and was chosen as the Premier League player of the month for October.

He's happy with the team's performance this season. “I think it brings confidence when we don't lose,” he says. “It’s easier on the pitch, outside of the pitch, on the training ground everybody is enjoying it a lot.”

Head coach Ruben Amorim is thrilled with his appointment. “At Brentford Bryan was a killer, for us he is a danger - he's sharp with his touches and when he gets a chance, invariably he finishes. “He's cold in front of goal and he's been such a big addition to what Manchester United are trying to do.”

Former England and United midfielder Owen Hargreaves says Mbeumo reminds him of Liverpool's Mo Salah as he's all “business in and around the box”.

Ex-United defender Rio Ferdinand has high hopes for him. “I think by the end of this season he'll be one of the most complete wingers in the Premier League because he can do everything,” he says.
