During the 1980s, the case of baby Azaria, who'd reportedly been snatched by a dingo near Uluru (pictured below), made news headlines.

The incident took place on 17 August 1980, while Lindy and Michael Chamberlain were on a camping holiday with their three children.

They were enjoying an evening barbecue when they heard a cry from nine-week-old Azaria. Rushing to the tent, Lindy saw a dingo race off into the night and her baby daughter missing..
