Gino D'Acampo is delighted to be showcasing some of his homeland's hidden gems in his latest culinary adventure for ITV1.

'This time I'm in the glorious deep south, discovering amazing food and the rustic traditions of Puglia and Basilicata,' enthuses the popular Italian chef, 47. 'I'm on a mission to discover the Ji ancient recipes and ingredients that these sometimes forgotten regions have to offer.'

The six-part series begins in the glorious city of Matera, known for its limestone cave dwellings, a high-octane car chase in 2021 James Bond film No Time to Die and supposedly the best bread in the country!

I’m going to show you things you’ve never seen before! One of the main reasons I decided to film in Puglia and Basilicata is because they’re not well known – but you need to know about them because they’re incredible!
