Over the past decade, fans of acclaimed drama Unforgotten have followed fictional detectives as they unravel long-held secrets to crack cold cases.

Now, a new two-part ITV1 docuseries will chart the work of a real police team at a major crime unit as they reopen the investigation into the 1981 murder of mum of two Carol Morgan, who was killed in her Bedfordshire convenience store during a suspected robbery.

Filmed over six years, The Real Unforgotten follows officers as they sift through evidence and carry out interrogations in an attempt to finally bring Carol's attacker to justice.
