When Alison Hammond took over from the late Paul O'Grady as host of ITVI's fly-on-the-kennelwall series For the Love of Dogs last year, she felt honoured to continue his legacy by becoming another champion of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

Now, as the show returns for another six-part run, she is thrilled to again be highlighting the inspirational work carried out at the London rescue centre as well as help its dedicated staff care for more pooches who are searching for forever homes.

‘The best thing about working on For the Love of Dogs is obviously the dogs; they’re so loving and kind. It’s like therapy being there and you get lots of hugs!’ says the presenter, who also cohosts ITV1’s This Morning and C4’s The Great British Bake Off.
