LA VOIX on bringing movie magic to the dance floor

Roll out the red carpet, grab the popcorn and settle back for some scene-stealing performances as BBC1's sequinned spectacular Strictly Come Dancing celebrates the glamour and glitz of Hollywood in its annual blockbuster Movie Week.

But, after a technical glitch with a sparkly carousel horse during her American smooth to Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club in the first live show, contender La Voix - who's paired with fan favourite pro Aljaž Škorjanec - is hoping for less drama and more diva.

'Movie Week is meant to be about dramatic entrances, but I've told Aljaž I don't want to fly onto the stage or anything like that,' laughs the charismatic performer, 45, during an exclusive chat with TV Times. 'I just want to be on the floor with no risk!'

Adding to the excitement, all the remaining couples will receive guidance from a special guest mentor, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, who returns to the show after winning rave reviews as a stand-in judge during the 2021 series.

Any theme week on Strictly is so special. But I'm used to impersonating all the famous divas in my own stage show, so the fact I can combine dancing with a character and a theme is just a bonus.
