BEYOND PARADISE NEW FRIDAY, 8PM, BBC1 DRAMA

They may not have made it to the altar last year, but DI Humphrey Goodman and his fiancée Martha Lloyd are stronger than ever as hit whodunnit Beyond Paradise returns to BBC1 for a third series.

When we rejoin the loved-up pair in the fictional Devonshire town of Shipton Abbott, Humphrey (Kris Marshall) is busy unravelling more puzzling cases and Martha (Sally Bretton) is focusing on moving her restaurant, Ten Mile Kitchen, to bigger premises – all while navigating their new life as foster parents.

‘They are a quirky couple who really embrace each other’s strengths and flaws,’ smiles Kris. ‘We find them in a very good space, which is needed because they are on this fostering journey, and that brings its own challenges.’

The new six-part run opens with a difficult investigation for Humphrey and colleague DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi), when a body is found on the border between Devon and Cornwall. As they're forced to co-operate with Cornish cops DI Jacob Tremayne (DI Ray's Steve Oram) and DS Fenella Foster (Changing Ends star Gabby Best), will a territorial battle get in the way of their hunt for the truth?
