Billy Joel takes to the stage in his beloved New York City
-
Music fans were devastated last month when Billy Joel abruptly announced he was cancelling all upcoming tour dates after being diagnosed with a rare brain condition.
The 76-year-old New Yorker was told by doctors to stop performing because he has normal pressure hydrocephalus, which causes problems with hearing, vision and balance.
The news comes just a year after the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter came to the end of a record-breaking residency at Manhattan's Madison Square Garden that saw him play a series of sold-out gigs at the famous venue stretching back to 2014.
