Unruly dogs are transformed into hero hounds in Alan Titchmarsh's new series

Love Your Garden presenter Alan Titchmarsh swaps flowers for our four-legged friends as he gives rescued, abandoned and badly behaved dogs a chance to shine in his new four-part Channel 5 series Alan Titchmarsh's Underdog to Superdog.

Each week, two problem pooches are trained by experts to do incredible jobs like mountain rescue, fire investigation and dog therapy-giving them a whole new lease of life in the process.

'I've loved dogs forever, since I was a lad, says Titchmarsh, 75, who's joined throughout the series by his daughter's cockapoo, Mabel.
