Comedy actor Kyla Harris drew on her own experiences for BBC2’s new six-parter We Might Regret This, in which she plays a Canadian artist who sets up home in London with her older partner and her round-the-clock carer.

When tetraplegic 30-something Freya shacks up with Abe (Darren Boyd), a strait-laced solicitor in his 50s, their relationship is tested by the arrival of Freya’s best friend Jo (Elena Saurel), who Freya hires as her 24/7 personal-care assistant.

As the three housemates rub shoulders, Jo is constantly in earshot and privy to every aspect of Freya and Abe’s relationship – from their most romantic moments to fiery domestic spats.
