The course of true love doesn't always run smooth, and that was certainly true for Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) in the first season of Netflix's LGBTQ+ romance Heartstopper.
After Charlie developed a crush on Nick, who found himself unexpectedly reciprocating, the two boys began a relationship that took both of them by surprise.
Having overcome their initial obstacles, the second season sees Nick and Charlie thinking about their next step-going public as a couple.
