NEW DRAMA

The Death of Bunny Munro

Thursday, 9pm, Sky Atlantic (box set, Sky Box Sets & NOW)

Matt Smith heads across the south of England on a raunchy road trip in The Death of Bunny Munro, a racy six-part Sky Atlantic drama based on the 2009 novel by rock icon Nick Cave.

The former Doctor Who star plays Bunny, a door-to-door beauty-product salesman and enthusiastic Lothario whose life is turned upside down following the death of his wife Libby (Sarah Greene) by suicide.

Left to look after his young son, Bunny Junior, the debauched dad sets off on an increasingly out-of-control journey, bouncing from one sales pitch to the next, while trying to seduce any woman he meets.

'When I first heard about the project, I couldn't believe it,' says Smith. 'I looked at my emails and saw one asking me if I'd like to have breakfast with Nick Cave. I was like, "You bet I would!" We had boiled eggs and soldiers and then I read the script. I thought it was amazing.'
