The cunning trickster was pushed through a time door by vengeful Loki variant/ally Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) just as the sacred timeline began splitting apart into countless branches.

Season 2 of the Marvel sci-fi hit opens in the middle of the chaotic aftermath, with Loki back at the Time Variance Authority (TVA), the bureaucratic organization responsible for eliminating alternate timelines.
Sylvie also killed the timeline’s supposed protector, He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a variant of comic baddie Kang the Conqueror. “If you think I’m evil, well, just wait till you meet my variants,” He told Sylvie and Loki before dying.
