L.Y.D. Returns with New Ethereal Single 'Parasol Pine'

The track follows the Mumbai/Munich artist's 2022 release 'Luna'
LAST OCTOBER, MUMBAI/MUNICH VOCALIST, COMPOSER AND DJ LYDIA Hendrikje aka L.Y.D. released her R&B-meets-soul offering “Luna.” Now, she’s back with a brand-new single in the shape of the silky “Parasol Pine.” The new song retains Hendrikje’s R&B sound while she also immerses listeners with modern jazz-pop elements and even delivers infectious vocal melodies across the track.
In this interview with Rolling Stone India, L.Y.D. talks to us about her new single “Parasol Pine,” getting back to performing live, her forthcoming album and more.
What have you been up to since “Luna” came out and how’s that process been of getting back to releasing music regularly?
I’m trying to basically eventually put it all on an album and I would like to make it a nice vinyl because I really feel like we don’t really hold anything in our hands anymore. When we make music sometimes it can feel that something is not finished. So, I’ve just been planning that basically and I have lined out the album. All the songs are pretty much there and I just need to produce and arrange them, but most of the stuff is already there, so I’ve been doing that.
Your new song “Parasol Pine” has a summery vibe to it. When did you write it and what can you tell me about this song?
