SHERYL CROW SONGS OF MY LIFE

Sheryl Crow is still finding balance as a rock-star mom. "I was going to be going to the Rolling Stones show last night, but my kids both have bronchitis," says Crow, 61, who cut short a trip to New York City to take care of her sons Wyatt, 16, and Levi, 13, at home in Nashville. "So kids first, and then Rolling Stones. In my life, I would never have thought I would say that sentence."

She may be settled into something like domestic bliss, but Crow can certainly still rock. In fact, on Nov. 3 she'll be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside stars like Missy Elliott and Willie Nelson at a ceremony in New York City. "The people that have meant the most to me in my musical life have been inducted into this organization, so to have my name in the hat with theirs, it's a giant honor," she says.

Since the 1993 release of her debut album, Tuesday Night Music Club, every day has been, well, a winding road for Crow, who's won nine Grammys for her confessional, gritty rock. Just don't remind her she's sold more than 50 million records. "I have this weird feeling every time I make a record that no one's ever going to hear it, and there's some kind of weird safety in that," says the star, who reveals she has a new album ready for release that hasn't been officially announced. "For me, writing is a way to find my way through stuff, as opposed to being really depressed or angry." She shares the stories behind some of her beloved hits.

‘Pavlova has a crisp exterior, while the inside has a soft, almost marshmallow-like texture,’ says the pastry chef at Sweet Graffiti dessert shop in N.Y.C. ‘Despite its elegant appearance, the recipe is surprisingly easy to make and requires only a few basic ingredients. And its imperfections, like cracks in the shell, are part of the dessert’s rustic charm’
