During the early days of the pandemic, Oprah Winfrey felt an instant connection with Arthur C. Brooks, a professor who studies the science of happiness, while reading his practical "How to Build a Life" column. If she had known him during her talk show days, she says, he would have been someone "we'd be calling on as an expert for almost every subject, everybody's life dilemmas and challenges, and how to move forward and be a better person."
