AS THE COUPLE'S RELATIONSHIP HITS A ROUGH PATCH, SOURCES SAY THEY HAVE BEEN LIVING APART AND REVEAL THE ISSUES THEY'RE FACING
Even though the temperature hovered in the 60s, there was a chill in the air when Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez met up in Los Angeles on May 16, marking the first time they'd been spotted together publicly for 47 days. The couple, who share five kids in their blended family and had been working on opposite coasts, arrived separately for a school event: Affleck drove with his mom, Chris Boldt, and 12-year-old son Sam, who embraced Lopez when he saw her outside, according to a witness. Meanwhile, Affleck was a bit more rushed with his wife, says the onlooker: "Ben said hi quickly, and they didn't hug."
According to sources, Affleck, 51, and Lopez, 54, are having issues and are currently living apart as Affleck stays in a rented home just a few miles from the $60 million Beverly Hills mansion he and Lopez bought in 2023. "Their marriage is not in the best place at the moment," says a Lopez source. Indeed, the day of the school event, relationship coach Lenna Marsak noted on her Instagram Stories that the "I'm Real" singer had liked a post Marsak shared that said, in part, "You cannot build a healthy relationship with someone who lacks integrity & emotional safety."
