Pete Davidson’s career is thriving—he’s been shooting movies with Zoë Kravitz and Casey Affleck—but there’s one far more important project coming very soon: his first baby. “Nothing’s really even close to as exciting as getting to meet this little person,” he says. “Not even remotely close.”

The comedian, 32, says he knew pretty quickly after meeting girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, 29, a model and actress, that he’d met his match: “We definitely didn’t waste time.” After going public with their romance in March, the pair announced they were expecting in July. New York City native Davidson, who teamed with eBay for an auction benefiting the charity Answer the Call (see sidebar), talked with People about how he and Hewitt are gearing up for parenthood.
