As the 13-year-old middle child of a single mom with three kids in Ocean Springs, Miss., Aubreigh Wyatt played the part of family organizer. She'd help her mother, Heather, a third-grade teacher, set up and decorate her classroom each fall and spent weeks drawing up itineraries for the family's vacations. "She loved to travel," says Heather, 34. "She had just reached the age when she could do her first overnight church camping trip to North Carolina, where she did whitewater rafting and team-building projects. She was bubbly and outgoing. She always had a smile on her face."
