After releasing her last album 17 years ago, Ashlee Simpson put her career on pause to focus on her family. But now that her kids are older—she’s raising daughter Jagger, 10, and son Ziggy, 4, with husband Evan Ross, 37, and shares son Bronx, 16, with her ex, Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz—Simpson has pressed play again with her I Am Me Las Vegas residency.
Named after her second album, which turns 20 in October, the show is running select dates through Sept. 27 at the Venetian Resort’s Voltaire nightclub and earning some special new fans along the way. “I am still dropping everyone to school and organizing the schedules of all my kids in between rehearsals,” Simpson, 40, says. “But I want to share with my kids, ‘This is also a part of Mommy.’ I’m not just an Uber mommy driver!”
