The best hubs designed for the modern iMac

Expand the ports on your iMac 24-inch (M1, 2021) with these hubs
Like modern MacBooks, ports on the latest generation iMac have gone the way of the dodo. Instead of a plethora of connections - think USB-A, SD, and Ethernet - the entry-level iMac 24-inch (M1, 2021) has just 2x Thunderbolt/USB-4 ports, while the upgrade model has an additional 2x USB-3 ports and Gigabit Ethernet (located on the power adaptor).
If you want to bring back those legacy ports to your modern iMac, you'll need a hub. The hubs here are specifically designed to work with the latest iMac - they're each made to integrate neatly with the iMac, allowing you to keep your desk space clean and uncluttered.
HyperDrive 6-in-1 USB-C Hub
£89.99, FROM hypershop.com
FEATURES 6x ports, passthrough charging, colour faceplates
1 This hub is designed to blend in with the iMac 24-inch, with soft curves to the corners, and a white bezel. It also comes with colour-matched faceplates so you can choose the one that suits your iMac. We tried the silver faceplate on our silver iMac - the colour didn't quite match, but still looked great.
Installation is simple: loosen the rear screw to allow you to pull away the rear casing from the chassis, then attach it to your iMac and tighten the screw to secure it in place.
The HyperDrive features six ports: SD, microSD, 2x USB-A and a single USB-C (all the fast 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 variety), and unlike any other hub here, you also get a single HDMI port on the rear for connecting up an external display at 4K 60Hz. There's also passthrough charging of up to 7.5W from the orange-coloured USB-A port, which is convenient.
