Now equipped with an Apple silicon M5 chip, but little else has changed

Apple normally releases new versions of its flagship laptop at this time of year, but for 2025 it's done things a little differently. That's because instead of releasing MacBook Pro models with a choice of chips (last year it was the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max) and in two different sizes, this time around it's launched a single 14-inch model equipped with an Apple silicon M5 – 16in models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are instead expected early next year; the current 16in MacBook Pro M4 Pro and M4 Max models remain available.
