Baddy fox was talking to some of the forest dwellers when he saw Damru donkey walking across the street.
“Hey, isn’t that Damru?” asked Baddy, turning to Jumpy monkey standing beside him.
“Yes, it’s Damru, but with that cap and glasses on, he’s hardly recognisable,” replied Jumpy.
“Let’s have a little fun with Damru,” said Baddy, and he called out to Damru. “Hey Damru, come here for a second!”
“What is it? Did you call me?” asked Damru.
“Damru, I wanted to ask you a question. Suppose I have four fruits in total and give you two of them. Then tell me, how many fruits are there altogether?” asked Baddy.
“Two fruits,” Damru replied, and Baddy burst out laughing.“Did you all hear that? Look how silly Damru is! I gave him two fruits, and I still have two, so that makes four in total, but he says two!” Baddy said, laughing.
“You're the fool, not me. If you give me fruits, I won’t just keep them, I’ll eat them immediately! So only two fruits will be left,” Damru said and walked away.
“Just look at that,” laughed Jumpy, “Baddy wanted to make fun of Damru, but Damru ended up making fun of Baddy instead!”
The other forest dwellers laughed too, causing Baddy to grow annoyed with Damru. On the other side of Champakvan, Damru was at home. He opened the door when he heard the doorbell ring.
“Ah, Jhumru, it’s you! Come in, I was waiting for you. I hope you didn’t have any trouble finding the house,” Damru said.“No trouble finding the place,” Jhumru said with a laugh, “but one of your friends mistook me for you on the way and tried to mess with me. I gave him such a reply, he won't forget it!”
“That must have been Baddy. He loves teasing everyone.”
“Must be. But I’m surprised no one recognised me, everyone thought I was you!“
