To many Christians, Judas is history’s most infamous villain. So when actor Luke Dimyan was cast as the controversial betrayer in The Chosen — the wildly popular Biblical drama series about the life of Jesus of Nazareth — the 28-year-old wasn’t sure how his loved ones would react to him playing the ultimate bad guy.

It turns out Luke, who’s been a regular cast member since Season 3, didn’t have anything to worry about. “My family must really love me, because they’ve been incredibly sympathetic toward Judas,” the actor — who’s currently starring in Season 5 of creator Dallas Jenkins’ hit show, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime or on the The Chosen app — tells In Touch. “They’ve become, for better or for worse, Judas’ No. 1 fans!”
