It's good to be Sandy Yawn. The successful superyacht captain Istars in the hit Bravo series Below Deck Mediterranean (which was recently nominated for an Emmy Award), and she will soon be launching a podcast with her girlfriend, gospel singer Leah Shafer. Sandy also has a new book- Be the Calm or Be the Storm: Leadership Lessons From a Woman at the Helm - on the way. "I'm living a life beyond my wildest dreams," says the 57-year-old, who credits 33 years of sobriety and working on boats with steering her in the right direction. "I got clean in August of 1989, and my second job was on a boat. I took to it like a dolphin to water. My soul found its place."
