AS POSH CELEBRATED HER 50TH, THE COUPLE WERE PREPARING FOR A NEW BOMBSHELL

After Victoria Beckham celebrated her 50th birthday at a star-studded party at a private club in London complete with a mini-Spice Girls reunion - the star, who has been nursing a broken foot since a gym mishap in February, was carried to the car around 2.30am by her dutiful husband, David.

She wore a sheer green dress from her own label, heels, a pair of sunnies and a contented grin. "I looked at some pictures of myself recently and was really struck by how happy I looked," she said in an interview with The Sunday Times published a day after the bash, reported to have cost just shy of $500,000. "In the past I've always looked at those red carpet pictures of me and seen a woman who looks nervous and insecure. Everyone else saw a woman who looked grumpy and stern - I suppose that's how I got the reputation of being such a miserable cow."

Her fun night out came on the heels of news that could no doubt wipe the smile from her face, with HarperCollins announcing it has acquired the world rights to an explosive new book, The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power, promising to give insight into previously untold elements of her private life with husband David, 48.
