THE ACCLAIMED ACTOR REVEALS WHY NEW THRILLER FEAR IS UNMISSABLE VIEWING

- Carolyn Hiblen

SINS OF THE FATHER

What would you do if your new neighbour was terrorising you and your family, making wild, unfounded allegations of abuse, tormenting you and turning your dream life in your dream home into a total nightmare? That's the premise of new three-part BritBox psychological thriller Fear, which sees the Berwick family driven to despair after loner Jan - who resides in their basement - turns from welcoming to downright creepy, before setting his sights on ruining his new neighbours’ reputations seemingly out of nowhere.

As husband and father-of-two Martyn (Martin Compston) begins spiralling, becoming obsessed with stopping Jan (Solly McLeod) impacting his marriage to Rebecca (Anjli Mohindra), his own father, Allan (James Cosmo), offers to help. Having already lost one child, there is seemingly nothing Allan won't do to protect his son and his family.

WHO sat down with Cosmo, 77, to debrief on the emotional roller-coaster of the series, find out how much he related to his stoic character and reflect on his illustrious career.

imageFear is based on the German book of the same name by Dirk Kurbjuweit. Did you read it before filming?
