A fashion designer's advice on getting your capsule wardrobe right

For Ali Lennard, the owner and designer of Sydney-based womenswear label Philosophy Australia, every item should take you wherever your day leads, from morning errands in the sun to cocktail hour with friends.

“If a piece can do all that - if it can be reworked, reimagined and restyled across seasons - then it’s a winner,” she says.

“Your year-round staples should all be hardworking, adaptable and ones that you genuinely love wearing on repeat.”
