Surrounded by family and friends and her beloved German Shepherd, Bowie, at home in Malibu, Shannen Doherty died from Stage IV cancer at age 53 on July 13, 2024, after first being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. “In the last few hours, she was in a place where she was very comfortable and sleeping and transitioning, and she was surrounded by some of her very close friends,” her friend and doctor, Lawrence D. Piro, told People magazine in November. “It was sombre and sad, but beautiful and loving. The hardest thing about this was that she wasn’t ready to leave because she loved life.”
