What to do if you find yourself clashing with your mother-in-law

IN-LAW AND ORDER

Unless you haven’t been checking the headlines lately, you'll know the rumoured feud between Nicola Peltz-Beckham and her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, is in full force.

While the alleged bad blood might've started simmering during the 2022 Peltz-Beckham wedding, now insider sources are claiming the pair aren’t even on speaking terms.

Of course, this only proves that even two of the world’s most glamorous women aren’t immune to the ‘evil’ mother-in-law and/or ‘disruptive’ daughter-in-law tropes.

And while we hate to see women pitted against each other, clinical psychologist Dr Maria-Elena Lukeides explains that this narrative reflects the very real adjustments that come with marrying in a family.

“Being a newcomer in a family means you're entering a dynamic where established roles, expectations and traditions are already in place,” Dr Lukeides explains.
