THE OUTLANDER PREQUEL STARS SHARE SECRETS FROM THE SET IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

If you've been watching Outlander prequel series Blood of My Blood, you may have noticed Jamie Roy's startling resemblance to the original show's Sam Heughan, who plays his future son, Jamie Fraser. That similarity has turned out to be a blessing and a curse. While it landed Roy, 32, the role of Brian Fraser, alongside Harriet Slater, 30, as love interest Ellen MacKenzie, it cost him another gig a couple of years ago.
“I auditioned for a one-line role in Outlander and didn’t get it because they thought it would be confusing how similar we looked,” Roy tells WHO. “But now we’ve gone from one line to many, so it’s great. There are definitely worse people to be compared to.”
Outlander is so loved. Did you feel a lot of pressure joining the franchise?
HARRIET SLATER I don’t think pressure is the right word, but it was slightly daunting because we just wanted to do a good job.
