Finding his VOICE

Attending the Paris premiere of their new crime thriller, Caught Stealing, on August 21, Austin Butler and co-star Zoë Kravitz posed on the red carpet before answering questions inside the theatre with the film's director, Darren Aronofsky. The American auteur was asked if the obvious spark between his co-stars was instrumental in their casting.

"It's purely like going to a roulette table and making a bet, because I had no idea," he answered. "I just liked them both as human beings and [had my] fingers crossed." Seems like he hit the jackpot. Following the premiere, Butler and Kravitz ducked out for a late-night drink at popular hotspot Dragon, chatting closely and embracing.

"There's definitely chemistry between them and they're loving spending time together promoting the movie," a source told the Daily Mail, adding, "It's not quite a fully fledged romance, but Austin hasn't been friend-zoned, either." In the film, which is currently in cinemas, Butler, 34, plays baseballer-turned-bartender Hank, who gets entangled in the criminal underworld of 1990s New York City. Kravitz, 36, plays his spirited paramedic girlfriend.

"The characters were well written and it was really about creating these two people that were in this very electric and vulnerable moment of deciding if they wanted to take this further," Kravitz told Access Hollywood of the role.
