Months after celebrating her 50th birthday with a quiet, low-key dinner in London in 2014, Elle Macpherson said she was embracing getting older. "I don't want to be young, I want to be beautiful, the most beautiful I can be, of course I do, but that doesn't come from being young," the Australian supermodel said in an interview with Red magazine. "If I look at pictures of when I was young, my smile wasn't even genuine, because it was so wracked with self-consciousness... Actually, if someone asked me when I hit my peak, standing from 50, I would say now or my forties. Maybe when I'm 60, I'll say my fifties. It certainly wasn't my twenties."

Sure enough, ahead of blowing out 60 birthday candles on March 29, Macpherson, who was dubbed 'The Body' at the height of her career, is in love with her latest life stage. "I feel incredible," she said during a recent interview with Body + Soul. "I think that's the most important thing... I'm grateful for my life, I'm grateful for my journey and I am loving turning 60."
