WITH PRODUCER RYAN MURPHY IN HER CORNER, THE ACTRESS HAS ENTERED A NEW ERA

AGE IS AN ATTITUDE

Naomi Watts is on a roll. The Australian actress has reached a new phase of her career, and at 56 years of age she's found fresh purpose - and one that comes with a don't-give-a-damn attitude. Appearing to take the lead from her bestie Nicole Kidman's playbook, she is now successfully combining prestige film appearances with buzzy TV stints, delivering some of the best work of her career.

"I do think I've been up for risks, probably because of resilience and maybe some naivety," she told The Australian Women's Weekly earlier this year, looking back on how far she's come since breaking through with the ABC series Brides of Christ back in 1991.

And if you think having worked with the late, great auteur David Lynch on the seminal Mulholland Drive, as well as garnering two Academy Award nominations - for 21 Grams and The Impossible – was an achievement, she's currently moving into an entirely different sphere, thanks, in part, to one man.

When the trailer dropped for Ryan Murphy's upcoming legal drama All's Fair, it went viral thanks to its surprise leading lady, Kim Kardashian, whose character runs a firm specialising in female-led cases.

imageAlso spotted in the preview was Watts herself – her presence confirming she has quickly become one of the powerhouse Hollywood producer's go-to actresses.

“I just love the empowerment side of his storytelling,” she confided to People magazine of the series, which also stars Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash-Betts and Glenn Close. “[He's] putting this great group of women together.”

The highly anticipated series marks Watts' third collaboration with Murphy, after 2022's creepy The Watcher and last year's based-on-fact
