See results from your facial in four steps

ACE YOUR FACE

Getting a facial can feel like the ultimate form of self-care. Lush products, a calming massage and sometimes even the inclusion of essential oils - no wonder you leave with glowing skin. Yet, you may have sometimes noticed your skin is more sensitive after a facial, leaving you more prone to irritation post-treatment. Here, WHO chats to Lizzy Graham, senior therapist at Fayshell, to help you prolong that post-facial glow.

BEFORE YOUR FACIAL

Avoid actives like retinol, AHAs/BHAs or strong exfoliants for at least 48 hours. "These ingredients can make the skin more sensitive and reactive, and we want your skin barrier at its healthiest for the best results," Graham says. "Also, avoid any other facials or cosmetic treatments - like injectables - for at least two weeks."
