Twas a bombshell few saw coming: On Aug. 15, federal and local authorities revealed a grand jury had charged five people in connection with the tragic death of beloved actor Matthew Perry. The star was found dead in his hot tub last October at the age of 54, with an autopsy later showing he’d died from the “acute effects” of ketamine. Prosecutors say doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, as well as Matthew’s longtime assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, and alleged drug dealer Jasveen Sangha as well as reality TV producer Erik Fleming played “key roles” in Matthew’s fatal overdose.

Those closest to the Friends alum have been horrified to learn the truth about the final weeks of his life, which were marked by addiction and desperation.
