Katie witnesses Eric having a coughing fit and asks Donna what’s going on, but Donna deflects. After, Donna and Eric visit Dr. Colby. Eric balks when the doctor recommends forgoing the showdown, insisting he will do it, even if it kills him. When Eric and Donna return home, she expresses her sadness over the possibility of losing him. Katie arrives just in time to overhear and when Eric leaves, Katie confronts her sister, who admits that Eric is dying. Katie comforts Donna, and notes that Ridge needs to know the truth.
ANYTHING WRONG?
Ridge explains the rules of the competition to R.J.: Whoever sells more gowns wins. Ridge picks up on his son’s somber mood and asks if there is anything he is hiding. Ridge presses his son, asking if something is happening with Eric. R.J. replies that Eric is happy to be designing and no matter what, they are family and they love each other.
