The Pride of Britain Award winners joined Prime Minister Keir Starmer at No10 to mark their incredible achievements

While there may have been a glittering array of A-list celebrities at the Pride of Britain Awards last week, it was the magnificent ordinary folk and their extraordinary stories that shone the brightest.

One of the people most impressed by the incredible achievements of the winners at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises, was Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who invited them to 10 Downing Street for a heroes' welcome the day after the ceremony.

He told winner Asha Ali Rage, “The stories, I find them so uplifting.”

Asha received the Special Recognition award for launching Dream Chasers FC in Small Heath. Birmingham, to help keep teenagers off the streets.

Sir Keir, who had been in the audience at the award ceremony with his wife Victoria, was deeply moved by Asha's story, and those of all the exceptional winners. He told them that their courage, bravery and community action will inspire millions.
