Cheryl's relief as stalker jailed

Singer Cheryl Tweedy is focusing on being a doting mum again, a source tells new, after a “living nightmare” left her fearing for her family’s safety

Following Cheryl Tweedy’s frightening stalking ordeal, which resulted in a man being put behind bars last week, a source tells new the Girls Aloud star is keen to move on and focus on her son Bear.

Daniel Bannister, 50, was jailed for 16 weeks at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court for breaching a restraining order to stay away from Cheryl, 41. Bannister turned up at Cheryl’s home just weeks after the death of her ex and Bear’s dad, One Direction star Liam Payne, in October. The incident left her fearing for her and Bear’s safety.

Bannister was previously jailed in September 2024 for four months for an offence he had committed in July 2024. He was also given a three-year restraining order, prohibiting him from contacting Cheryl, entering Buckinghamshire or attending her address. But in December, court documents revealed he had returned to Cheryl's home. Bannister was charged with breaching his restraining order as he'd entered Buckinghamshire on 10 December.

Jailing him again, District Judge Arvind Sharma also replaced Bannister’s existing three-year restraining order with a new one that would run indefinitely.

Bannister pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment relating to the breach of a restraining order and one count of attempting to breach a restraining order.
