DEVASTATED Jay Leno is stepping back from showbiz to take care of his devoted, dementia-stricken wife, Mavis, who’s been by his side for nearly 50 years!

The former Tonight Show host, 73, has filed papers to become Mavis’ legal conservator — and sources say the funnyman plans to ensure her final days are comfortable and filled with love.

“Jay is looking to take care of all of Mavis’ needs,” spills a source, who says Leno is planning to fulfill his contractual obligations before bowing out to fully devote himself to his partner of 43 years.
