Prince George stars in a striking new portrait as he turns 12

Say cheese, Prince George! The second in line to the throne was celebrated on his 12th birthday with a new portrait released by Kensington Palace (right). Dressed in a felt vest and checkered collar shirt and leaning on a fence in a field, the young royal looks relaxed and happy.

"There's no jacket and tie – it's authentic countryside fun," royal author Robert Hardman observes to Hello! "It's nice to see George smiling so much."
