Fashion repeats itself as the offspring of A-listers reinvent their glamorous looks

- ISABELLE CASEY

STYLE TWINS

Grace Kelly's glamorous style was celebrated on one of Monaco’s grandest nights of the year, when her granddaughter Camille Gottlieb proved that fashion is a family affair.

The influencer, 27, who is the head of the Red Cross’s youth section, attended the charity’s gala in a ballgown inspired by the Edith Head design worn by Grace in the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film Rear Window.

It was one of the most famous roles of her career, coming just two years before she became Princess of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier III in a fairytale wedding in 1956.

"Thanks to Elisabetta Franchi, I was able to pay tribute to my grandmother with this beautiful dress,” said Camille, the daughter of Princess Stéphanie.

She also thanked the Italian fashion house for its role in reimagining the gown. There were a few new touches, including a sweetheart-style neckline and a slit in the glamorous floor-length tulle skirt.

Camille is just one of the celebrity descendants who have taken style inspiration from their famous relatives, proving that a talent for fashion truly is in their genes...

Ringing in her 21st birthday last year, Carys Douglas called on the sartorial stylings of her actress mother, Catherine Zeta-Jones, wearing the blush-pink Ungaro slip dress that the Chicago star sported at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards.

The dress no doubt holds special memories for the Welsh-born actress, as it was the night she won the award for Best Breakthrough Performance for her role in The Mask of Zorro.

She was 29 at the time and had only recently started dating the actor Michael Douglas, Carys's father.
