SINGING US INTO CHRISTMAS CHER REVEALS HOW LOVE INSPIRED HER TO MAKE MUSIC AGAIN

Cher’s romance with music executive Alexander Edwards has been a source of fascination since the couple met in the city of love at Paris Fashion Week 13 months ago.

The Goddess of Pop, as she is known in the industry, even sparked speculation that her new beau – who, at 37, is 40 years her junior – had proposed.

Sharing a photo on social media last Christmas Day of a dazzling pear-cut diamond ring, she wrote: “THERE R NO WORDS,” followed by his name: “ALEXANDER, A.E.”

Almost a year on and the loved-up duo would appear to be in perfect harmony, with the singer performing a U-turn following a previous comment about being “too old to go out with really younger men”.

The star – who has two children from her marriages to singer Sonny Bono and musician Gregg Allman – is certainly enjoying her new-found happiness with Alexander, who has a four-year-old son from his relationship with TV star Amber Rose.

“No matter what happens, I love being with him,” she has said. “He makes me laugh and we have fun.”

And in this new interview, Cher reveals that the couple’s shared passion for song is what inspired her first new album – Christmas – in more than five years.

“It was Alexander who talked me into singing again,” she says. “He brought me some songs and the subject of the Christmas album came up.
